Former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov (included in the register of terrorists and extremists in the Russian Federation) has been declared wanted by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, TASS reported.
„Avakov Arsen Borisovich. "He is wanted under an article of the Criminal Code," the department's database says. It does not say what article the search is under.
In 2018, the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case against Avakov for obstructing the free exercise of electoral rights by citizens of the Russian Federation in the presidential elections. Avakov, according to the investigators, instructed the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, who were supposed to ensure the safety and security of the Russian diplomatic institutions in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa and Lviv, not to allow Russians to the polling stations.
