On May 9, the mayor of Dupnitsa Parvan Dangov got involved in a scandal with the Russian flag. By his order, it was raised on the pylons in front of the municipality together with the flags of Bulgaria and the EU.
In front of BTA, Dangov himself revealed that he received a call from the State Agency "National Security" to take down the flag.
However, the flag was taken down twice today by Nikolay Tabakov, municipal councilor from "Democratic Bulgaria". and candidate for deputy in the upcoming elections. The second time he also threw it into a nearby trash can, because after the first removal, the flag was put back on the pole.
"I don't see anything wrong with the Russian flag being in front of the Municipality today," Dangov told BTA and added that we have not suspended our relations with the Russian Federation. "As for the bucket, I will contact the relevant authorities," said Dangov.

The police in Kyustendil told BTA that a report has been filed, which is being worked on, and the prosecutor's office has been notified of the case.
